What is new about OpenLabyrinth?

The concept of virtual patients is not that new. In one guise or another, they have been around for at least 25 years. OpenLabyrinth takes a completely new approach to this whole area.

The most important difference is that OpenLabyrinth allows for the development of much more complex and challenging cases with multiple branches and end-points. This is somewhat similar to the old Choose Your Own Adventure books, where the narrative evolves differently depending on the choices you make.

Good case design should provide realistic consequences to your clinical decisions. After all, if you make a poor decision in real life, nobody jumps out with a red flag to correct you.
