In your field of view is a cell undergoing mitosis. The cells in this sample have been synchronized, so when this sample was stoppped, all the cells in the sample were in the same phase of mitosis. Furthermore, with special staining techniques, you can visualize the cell membrane, chromosomes, and microtubules, but not all at the same time.
