History of jaundice

Amanda comes into the room, and tells you what has brought her in today, in response to your open questions.

'Well, it's my belly, really, doc. I've had pain on and off for a while now - just now and then, after a big meal or something, but not like this. It was really bad on Thursday, really killing, I took my usual painkillers but it still really hurt. The pain's always in the same place, since you ask, here on the right, up near the top of the tummy, and I sort of feel it going round the side into the back. So the pain lasted much longer on Thursday, and it was there a bit of Friday, and I felt really off colour generally, like I couldn't do anything at all. Then it was my boyfriend, he's an absolute star, he is the one who keeps me sane, well he said that I looked a bit yellow, and blow me if I wasn't! So I came here.'
