Accident and Emergency (A&E) minor injuriesWelcome to this virtual patient scenario. In the scenario you will take the role of a junior doctor, both in primary and secondary care. You will receive feedback about the decisions that you make at the end of the scenario, and there are also MCQs during the scenario, where you will receive feedback immediately. At the end you will be able to see a score on the counter for your MCQs, and a score on the feedback page for your management decisions. We hope you enjoy the scenario, and find it a useful tool to help your learning. You are the junior doctor (UK: FY2) in Accident and Emergency (A+E), and you are working in minor injuries ('minors') today. Your next patient is Mr John O'Connor, a gentleman who has been brought to A+E as the victim of an assault. The A+E card says: '46 year old male. Brought in by police. Head Injury following assault. No loss of consciousness, alert and orientated. Transfer to minors.' |
