Who's reading the scenario?

Answer has been sent.

This branching scenario is an introduction to a case study about anophthalmia, a developmental disorder resulting in the absence of eye tissue.

This branching scenario is presented in three conversations:

Conversation #1: You and your partner are speaking with a doctor about your upcoming delivery. Your baby has anophthalmia, and Dr. Verma will explain its genetic component, how a child's brain activity may change, and how the brain can adapt.

Conversation #2: Dr. Verma will discuss how to take care of a child who is blind and the kinds of resources available for parents.

Conversation #3: Several years after the delivery of your child, you visit an ophthalmologist, Dr. Yazzie, to talk about a very special ability your child developed in infancy, echolocation. You will discuss the the internal structures of the brain, the cortical areas, and the cranial nerves.

Rules: In each conversation, you will see words highlighted in red. These words signify a topic you'd like your doctor to elaborate on. Within a conversation (#1, #2, or #3), you will always be able to return to the main conversation to revisit topics you haven't chosen. Once you decide to move onto the next conversation, you will NOT be able to return to the previous conversation (ex.: can't go from #2 back to #1). This means, only move onto the next conversation when you're ready. If you want to review what options you chose, click the "Review your pathway" on the right side of the panel. Good luck!
