Introduction

Welcome to today's scenario. We will be using a virtual patient to explore depression and anxiety in an older adult, and to develop your therapeutic communication skills. The case will work best for you if treat this virtual patient as you would a real patient. We have tried to make the options at each point realistic and reflection of the choices you might face in a similar situation. 

The simulation is self-directed and includes a variety of questions (multiple choice, select all that apply, prioritizing, and short answer) to help you connect theoretical concepts to a specific patient scenario. You will received feedback on the answers to your questions and at the end of the scenario you can print a transcript of your responses for further reflection.
