Welcome to Virtual Residents, a ‘game’ inspired by many years of troubleshooting issues arising in community-based rotations. As preceptors, teachers, or mentors many have experienced and brought to light some interesting professionalism, and other inter-relational, challenges. With these scenarios in mind, we would like to introduce you to the concept of virtual residents, an interactive tool for students and teachers.

Note that we are assessing this tool and educational approach - we are NOT assessing you. But it is helpful to know a bit more about you to help make our cases better.

Using Situational Judgment Testing (SJT) we would like to explore some of these issues through the following scenarios. For these, there is often no single right answer.
