Start of RotationWelcome to our Virtual Learners and Teachers series. We are exploring the merits of virtual patients as a way of learning about some of the challenges that learners and teachers face on community rotations. Note that we are assessing this tool and educational approach - we are NOT assessing you. But it is helpful to know a bit more about you to help make our cases better. What program or department do you work in? Thank you. Now, on with the case. Not all the choices are obvious. It should take about 30 mins. (The progress indicator will give you an idea of this.) Click on the buttons at the bottom of the page. You are an experienced preceptor for community clinical rotations. You are in your clinic at 0830 on Monday morning. You have come in early because you are expecting to meet with Larry, a Clinical Clerk (final year med student) for orientation on this first day of his rotation with you. However, at 09:00, there is still no sign of Larry. |
