How to use this guide

At the bottom of each page, you will have a bunch of choices on where to go next.

You can also use the Index on the right side of each page to quickly jump to particular areas.

Some links will lead you to embedded videos. Note that the embedded clips make use of Flash and so will not display in the standard browsers on iPads or iPhones. (Videos that are linked by URLs will still work.) If you want to use these devices, we suggest that you use the Puffin browser, available on the App Store. The Puffin browser will seamlessly display Flash materials.

At the end, we will ask you for feedback on this approach to learning procedures.

We are using a virtual patient engine to present this material. If you want to learn more about virtual patients in general, you can check out this case here.

While this case is being developed, you may come across odd text segments, preceded by two asterisks ** these are place markers for our development team. Ignore them they will gradually be removed as the case is refined.

While we have done our best to ensure that our material and the linked material is accurate and without errors, we cannot guarantee such accuracy. Occasionally linked material may change. And errors do creep into any guidance material. Learners should not rely solely on the information contained in this guide but should seek out additional advice from competent teachers and practitioners.
