Mass closure

When you are really pressed for time (emergency hemostasis, other more pressing issues), you can create good bleeding control and reasonable closure of wound edges with this technique.

It is particularly useful in very vascular areas such as the perineum, after vaginal delivery.

There is no subtlety to this. It is really just the simple interrupted suture, employed en masse through several tissue layers, with big bites, big needles, big bold thread.

But it is useful to know that in many situations, you still get good wound healing with this crude technique.
