Novel CollabraCam approach

This is one of our own productions.

Here we used a novel approach with multiple small cameras. We used CollabraCam, which is an iPad app, to record multiple simultaneous views, all coordinated through a central iPad.

Throughout the video, you can see me coordinating the session while viewing the session in real time through multiple views. This might sound terribly masochistic, but for this situation had huge advantages. Because I am experienced in IDL and have a fair idea of how the patient should sit and hold their head & neck, I volunteered to be the patient. By watching their views in real time, I was able to adapt my own positioning, relax my larynx better and tilt my head to the optimum angle for a good view.

Using simple iOS devices, we were able to shoot multiple views of the same event without having to resort to torture. We have annotated the video with some pointers about camera position etc. We will be writing up this technique but in the meantime, feel free to contact us for further details.

Note that the other two physicians in this video had no prior experience of IDL, and yet were able to capture a decent view and learn the technique through this approach.
